▶ Cutting a stair stringer is one of the trickiest DIY jobs. Stair Calculator does the math for you: enter your total rise and available run, and get evenly divided risers and treads instantly.
▶ See a clear stringer cut layout with the exact marking dimensions and framing-square settings, so you can transfer the cuts to your board with confidence.
▶ Built-in code check flags whether your riser height and tread depth fall inside common limits (IRC-style, with US, CA, EU and AU presets). It's a helper, not a substitute for your local building code — always confirm with your inspector.
▶ Work in inch-fractions or centimeters, get the stringer board length you need, and keep everything offline on the job site. No signal, no account.
▶ Made for deck builders, basement and DIY stair projects, carpenters and anyone framing steps. Save your layouts and come back to them any time.
Results are calculated from the numbers you enter and are for planning reference. Building codes vary by location — verify riser, tread and headroom rules with your local authority before you build.
