Selfish turns plain-text posts and photos into a complete static website — clean HTML, your theme's CSS, every image, a sitemap and an RSS feed — and publishes it straight to a place you control. No backend. No accounts. No tracking. Just your words, on your server.
It is local-first by design. Your writing lives on your device and syncs across your iPhone, iPad and Mac through your own iCloud — never our servers, because we don't have any. Passwords, SSH keys and API tokens are stored only in the Keychain, and are never sent anywhere except the destination you choose.
WRITE
• A clean, distraction-free composer with live formatting — bold, italic, links, headings and quotes
• Place photos, video and audio anywhere in the post — they publish exactly where you put them
• Organise with categories and tags
• Drafts stay private until you publish
• A live preview that matches the published page exactly
MAKE IT REAL
• One tap generates a complete static site: posts, pages, category and tag archives, sitemap.xml, an RSS feed and a JSON feed
• Run as many separate sites as you like from one app
• Photo location data (EXIF/GPS) is stripped on the way out
PUBLISH ANYWHERE YOU CONTROL
• SFTP to your own web server, with the host key pinned on first connection
• Amazon S3 or compatible storage — Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, DigitalOcean Spaces, MinIO
• Netlify
• Cloudflare Pages
• GitHub Pages
THEMES
Four themes are included: Default, Modern, Classic and Sky. Three more — Mono, Editorial and Zine — are optional one-time purchases. Every theme is a single stylesheet with automatic dark mode, no external requests and no web fonts fetched from anyone else's server.
ONE PURCHASE, EVERY DEVICE
Selfish is a universal app. Buy it once and use it on your iPhone, iPad and Mac.
WHAT IT DOESN'T DO
No comments, no newsletter, no analytics, no importers from other platforms. It makes websites and puts them where you tell it to.
Selfish is for people who want to own their corner of the web — writers, makers and tinkerers — without renting it from a platform.
