Hot pavement burns paws. On a sunny 90°F day, asphalt can soar past 140°F — hot enough to burn your dog's paw pads in under a minute. Air temperature alone won't warn you.
PawWalk estimates the actual road-surface temperature under your dog's paws and answers the only question that matters, at a glance, on a clear 5-level scale: Good to go, Mostly fine, Caution, Danger, or Do not walk.
PLAN THE PERFECT WALK
A 48-hour timeline for today and tomorrow highlights the safe walk windows, so you know exactly when to head out — early morning, after sunset, whenever the pavement has cooled down.
WALK WITH CONFIDENCE
Start a walk and a Live Activity keeps the elapsed time and current heat level right on your Lock Screen. No unlocking your phone mid-walk.
TUNED TO YOUR DOG
Small dogs walk closer to the hot ground and heat up faster. Tell PawWalk your dog's size and the rating adjusts — stricter for small breeds, standard for large ones.
SIMPLE AND HONEST
One-time purchase. No ads, no subscriptions, no account. Just open the app and know.
Note: Surface temperatures are estimates based on weather data and surface modeling. Always test the pavement with the back of your hand for 7 seconds and use your own judgment — your dog is counting on you.
