Read the Buddha's own words, chant with real sanghas, and know today's lunar date, all in one quiet place.
Buddhism is not another mindfulness timer. It carries 1,274 suttas of the Pali Canon in respected English translations by Thanissaro Bhikkhu, Bhikkhu Bodhi and others, stored on your iPhone so they open instantly on a plane, in a temple, or at 5 a.m. with no signal. Around the scriptures sit the things a practising Buddhist actually reaches for every day: traditional chanting from Pure Land, Theravada, Nichiren and Tibetan lineages, a lunar calendar with auspicious hours, a Buddha quote for the day, and a shared prayer room where people around the world post their blessings.
WHAT YOU GET
• Open any of 1,274 suttas from the Digha, Majjhima, Samyutta, Anguttara and Khuddaka Nikayas in seconds, offline, with a title search that finds the Dhammapada, Metta Sutta or Satipatthana before you finish typing.
• Chant along with 12 recorded collections: Chinese Pure Land, Pali devotional chanting in Thai and Burmese style, Nichiren daimoku, Om Mani Padme Hum and Sino-Vietnamese liturgy, so home practice sounds like the temple.
• Listen to insight meditation instruction from Ven. Pannyavaro, the Chant of Metta, and Buddhist songs for children while you cook, commute or sit.
• See today's lunar day, month and year with its heavenly stem and earthly branch, then check the good hours, the hours to avoid, and the departure direction before an important journey.
• Post a blessing in the global prayer room under your Dharma name, read the wishes of strangers on the same path, and dedicate merit together.
• Start each morning with a Buddha quote chosen for the date and the most-read Buddhist articles of the week, so study never stalls.
PERFECT FOR
• Lay practitioners who keep the lunar calendar and want the sutta for tonight's reading within reach.
• Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai families abroad who miss the sound of chanting from home.
• Newcomers who would rather read the Buddha directly than a summary of him.
• Anyone who wants a sangha at 3 a.m. when the temple is closed.
WHY NOT JUST SEARCH THE WEB
Web copies of the suttas are scattered across sites, wrapped in banners, and gone the moment your connection drops. Here the whole canon is one library, sorted, searchable, and readable in a clean serif page that respects the text. The chanting is grouped by lineage rather than buried in a video playlist, and the calendar shows the lunar date beside the solar one instead of asking you to convert.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
No account. No sign-in. No email address. What you read and which dates you save stay on this iPhone. The only thing that ever leaves it is a blessing you choose to post, and it appears under the Dharma name you pick, with nothing else attached.
