Yourora helps you decide when it’s actually worth going out to see the northern lights.
Instead of making you interpret complicated forecasts and conflicting sources, Yourora brings together real conditions, local observations and clear guidance so you can understand what is happening and what it means for you.
With Yourora you can:
• Get clear guidance on current northern lights conditions
• See what is happening around locations relevant to you
• Explore aurora data in Easy mode or dive deeper with Advanced mode
• Join local and interest-based groups
• See observations and activity shared by other people
• Report what you are seeing and contribute to the community
• Receive timely alerts when conditions become interesting
• Combine scientific conditions with real-world observations for a clearer picture of what is happening
Yourora is designed around one simple idea: you should not need to become an aurora expert just to know whether it is worth stepping outside.
Want a quick answer? Keep it simple. Want to understand the science and data behind it? Go deeper. Yourora gives you both, while bringing real-world observations and conditions together in one place. Yourora is a paid membership, with no free tier.
Yourora helps you decide if the northern lights are worth going out for tonight.
Built around northern European data, Yourora combines local measurements, forecasts, weather, darkness and real-world observations to give you a clear view of what is happening now and what could happen later.
Yourora is a paid membership, there is no free tier. Membership unlocks the full app, from real-time guidance to community observations and alerts.
GO OUT, WAIT OR STAY IN
Yourora answers four simple questions:
• Is aurora activity happening now?
• Could conditions improve later?
• Is the sky clear?
• Is it dark enough?
Measured conditions and forecasts are kept separate, so you always know what is happening now and what is still predicted.
SIMPLE OR ADVANCED
Simple mode gives you the call and the reason behind it.
Advanced mode lets you explore the underlying data, including solar wind, geomagnetic activity, magnetometers, solar imagery and forecast models.
REAL OBSERVATIONS
See what people nearby are actually seeing.
Post an observation, attach a photo, join local groups and follow reports as they happen. Real-world observations add context that forecasts alone cannot provide.
ALERTS YOU CONTROL
Choose what is worth being notified about, from tonight’s outlook and geomagnetic activity to substorms, CME arrivals and solar flares.
Set quiet hours so less urgent alerts can wait until morning.
MORE THAN THE AURORA
Yourora also helps you discover meteor showers, the Milky Way, eclipses, supermoons, moonrise, twilight and dark-sky locations.
BUILT FOR NIGHTS OUTSIDE
A dark, location-aware interface keeps aurora conditions, cloud cover and night-sky information easy to read when you are outside.
Yourora came to life through Norrsken Sverige, built on more than a decade of experience bringing together people who share a passion for the northern lights.
Know when to go out, when to wait, and what else is worth looking up for.
