Six things in your current one are now wrong or missing, so this is a rewrite rather than an edit:
TxtGod is the quiet, focused way to read the Bible and make it your own.
Instead of writing in the margins of a paper Bible, highlight any verse and write
your own notes right beside it - how you understand it, what it means to you, what
you want to remember. Your notes stay private, and because they're anchored to the
verse itself, they follow you across every translation and every language.
READ
• Four translations built in and fully offline: World English Bible (WEB), King
James Version (KJV), American Standard Version (ASV), and Young's Literal
Translation (YLT).
• 110 languages available - download the one you read in, once, and keep it.
• Parallel view - read two translations side by side.
• Clean, distraction-free reading in a warm, easy-on-the-eyes design.
MARK & UNDERSTAND
• Highlight verses with meaning: Promise, Command, Teaching, Prophecy, Personal.
• Write unlimited private notes on any verse.
• Tag notes and gather them into collections.
• Bookmark verses to find your place again.
GO DEEPER
• Every verse word by word in Hebrew or Greek, with Strong's numbers and a lexicon.
• 341,000 cross-references between passages.
• Deep Dive: verse-by-verse study notes through the opening of Genesis, with
recorded talks that download once and play offline.
A VERSE EACH DAY
• One verse a day, on a theme - hope, grief, forgiveness, courage, thankfulness.
• Every third day, a verse you highlighted yourself.
• Sent to you each morning, if you want it.
FIND IT BY HOW YOU ARE
• Search the full text of scripture and your own notes.
• Or start from what you're carrying - grieving, afraid, weary, looking for hope -
and read the verses that speak to it.
LISTEN
• Have any chapter read aloud, with the verse you're hearing highlighted as it goes.
• Choose the voice and the pace; keeps playing with the screen locked, with
lock-screen controls, and rolls on into the next chapter.
• Entirely on-device - it works with no signal at all.
TRACK WHAT YOU'VE READ
• Mark a chapter read when you've actually read it - nothing counts itself.
• See your progress by testament and by book, a streak, and how much you've read
this week.
• Pick up at the first chapter you haven't read yet.
THE WIDER CANON
• Translations carrying the deuterocanonical books are available - the King James
with Apocrypha, and the ASV Byzantine Text. They appear as their own section,
only for the translations that include them, and never count toward your
reading progress.
SHARE
• Turn any verse into an image worth sending, over a choice of backdrops or your
own photo.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Everything you write stays on your device. No account. No tracking. No analytics.
• The app downloads a language or a talk only when you ask for one, and nothing else.
