rollbook is a quiet, archival home for your scanned film photos.
It organizes the photos already stored in Apple Photos into film rolls by stock, camera, format, and date, like labeling paper sleeves in a real binder.
Delete a photo from Apple Photos and it disappears from rollbook automatically. No duplicates. No second library to manage.
WHY ROLLBOOK
• A cabinet for film scans, not another endless camera roll.
• Large built-in catalogs of film stocks and analog cameras, ready to use from the start.
• Supports both 135 and 120 film formats, both colour and B&W
• A strictly monochrome interface inspired by paper contact sheets, grain, and archival binders.
• Fully offline. No accounts. No backend.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Create rolls in a guided flow: choose a film stock, choose a camera, then import your scans from Apple Photos.
• Browse rolls as drifting canisters or in a clean grid layout.
• Group rolls by date, film stock, or camera.
• Open every roll as a contact sheet and view frames fullscreen.
• Record the full story behind a roll: developer, scanner, push/pull processing, costs, notes, and more.
• Search your entire archive through roll notes.
• Edit roll metadata anytime.
• Track shooting stats like most-used films, cameras, and total spend.
• Save default film stocks and cameras for faster imports.
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
rollbook only stores references to your photos using Apple’s PHAsset identifiers. The actual image files remain inside Apple Photos at all times.
There are no servers, analytics systems, accounts, or cloud sync. Your archive stays entirely on your device.
ROLLBOOK LIFETIME
The free version lets you create up to 5 rolls.
A single one-time purchase unlocks unlimited rolls and all future updates through Rollbook Lifetime. No subscriptions. No recurring payments.
Made for people who still load film canisters, advance the lever, and wait for scans from the lab. If that sounds familiar, rollbook will feel like home.
