PunchPad is a material manager for working stand-up comedians. Capture a premise, grow it into a bit, build a setlist, perform it, rate how it landed. Then look at the shape of your own act.
CAPTURE
The app opens on a text field with the cursor already live. Type the idea, save, leave. No title, no category, no tags asked for.
MATERIAL
Premise, bit and chunk are three states of one thing. Promote a premise to a bit with one button when it earns it. Nest bits under a chunk. Add tags as you go; they stay flat and lowercase, with autocomplete against what you have used before.
SETLISTS
Build a setlist from your material and drag to reorder. Running time sits next to your target, so you know whether you are holding eight minutes or twelve.
STAGE MODE
Big text, a timer, swipe between items, screen stays awake. Built for a dark room and a phone on the stool beside you.
POST-SET REVIEW
After the show, mark each bit: killed, ok, died. Add what you improvised, drop what you skipped. A minute of tapping and the set is logged. Every performance keeps a copy of the text as it stood that night, so you can see that the March version killed and the April rewrite died.
MAP
Your tags become a map. Node size is how much material lives there, glow is how well it plays. Family is huge and cold. Dating is tiny and on fire. Tags you have never performed stay dim outlines, because unknown and bad are different things.
COLLISION OF THE DAY
One card a day pairs two pieces of material from opposite corners of your archive, or names a tag that lives in two of your worlds at once. Swipe it away, or turn it into a new premise. The math runs on your own tags and nothing else. No AI writes jokes here.
ARCHIVE
Export everything as Markdown and JSON whenever you want a copy.
Offline. No account, no cloud, no ads, no subscription. Your raw material stays on your phone.
