Built for the ultimate listening experience, Pentaton lets you enjoy your digital music collection just like your favorite artists intended. Listen to your full albums, front to back, without distractions or social media noise. Enjoy the moment without being let down by your streaming provider. Be in total control of your listening experience—do not let any algorithm or licensing deal decide for you ever again.
Embrace music in its original form, Pentaton will never alter your bits. Take your whole collection with you or listen from your NAS at home. Point Pentaton to some folders and start listening immediately—nothing to import or copy.
Pentaton has decoders for all major high-resolution lossless formats, including the most demanding 11.2 MHz DSD256 recordings. It automatically configures your external DAC to support the highest fidelity, up to 32 bit / 768 kHz — or 705.6 kHz when playing DSD256 over PCM.
Pentaton’s audio engine uses a circular buffer to make sure your gapless albums are played back seamlessly, without the slightest interruption. It also provides lossless AirPlay streaming, even when using AirPlay 2, for perfect CD quality playback.
Key features:
• Pentaton’s laser-focus delivers the greatest audiophile playback experience with a large selection of formats at their highest fidelity.
• Pentaton’s streamlined interface helps you enjoy your albums in their entirety, from the first track to the very last.
• Virtually zero CPU usage while playback. Pentaton’s audio engine and its subtle animations leverage iOS’s lowest level APIs — letting you enjoy your music even longer.
• Decoders for FLAC with MQA passthrough, DSF and DSDIFF for DSD, MP3, all Ogg formats, Monkey’s Audio, Musepack, TheTrueAudio (TTA) and WavPack.
• Support for any data source you can mount in the Files app, using folders for organization and advanced heuristics for caching music metadata for blazing-fast navigation.
• Pentaton configures AirPlay to use Apple's lossless ALAC codec for perfect CD quality playback at 16 bits and 44.1 kHz — even when using AirPlay 2.
Note: Pentaton does not come with any music, it is designed to play your own media files. You can try Pentaton with all of it's features for free for 7 days, after which you will need to unlock it via a one-time in-app purchase or a subscription.
