Life together is built on each other's help.
Okagesama is a shared household budget for married couples, couples and partners living together. What you pay for the two of you reaches your partner as a "thank you."
When one of you buys dinner at the supermarket, the other's iPhone gets a note like "Mio picked up Food for us." With one tap, they can send back "Thank you" or "That helped." Every thank-you becomes a piece of konpeito candy, dropping one by one into the single jar you share.
■ Thank-you konpeito
・Send "Thank you" to your partner's entry with one tap
・Stamps: "Thank you," "That helped," "Good work," "That was delicious," "So happy" and "Love you." You can add a short note
・One jar for the two of you. It doesn't count who sent how many. Nothing happens if you don't reply
・The next time you open the app, the thank-yous you received fall into the jar to welcome you back
■ Otagaisama and Narasu (evening out)
・A gently tilting balance and a kind line show who is covering a little more: "This month, Kenta is covering a little more."
・Amounts appear only on the detail screen, in a tactful sentence: "If Mio gives Kenta ◯◯, you'll be even."
・Splitting is calculated automatically. In the app, we call it "Narasu" (evening out). After you hand over cash or send money, tap it and the balance levels out (the app itself never sends money)
・For 3 or 4 people, it shows the combination with the fewest hand-overs
■ Your agreement
・Split "half and half" or "by income (30:70 to 70:30)." Decide once together, and it's calculated automatically from then on
・When your partner also taps "OK with this agreement," the first konpeito drops into the jar
・If you change the agreement, earlier entries keep the ratio they were recorded with
・The month can start on any day from the 1st to the 28th, to match payday
■ Record in 5 seconds
・Amount → who it's for → done
・"For both of us," "Half and half," "For ◯◯ (covered for them)," "Treat or gift" and "Just me"
・Category and note are optional
■ Monthly Okagesama card
・At the start of each month, last month's jar is sealed into a card
・Your shared living costs, the thank-yous you exchanged, a memorable note, and each person's share under your agreement
・Save it as an image ("Just me" entries are not included)
■ Your constellations
・Put shared goals like "Okinawa trip" or "Moving" in the night sky
・Each time you save toward a goal, a star lights up in the color of the person who saved
・When you reach the goal, the stars connect into a constellation
■ Just-me entries
・Keep spending you don't want to show your partner in the same app. "Just me" entries are never sent to your partner
■ No sign-up. Just the two of you, with iCloud
・No account and no email address needed
・Your data stays only in your and your partner's iCloud and iPhones. There is no developer server
・Amounts and notes are stored encrypted
・Only the person you invite can open the invitation. Up to 4 members
・No ads. No analytics or ad SDKs
・Works on your own, and without signing in to iCloud
■ Try the demo first
・Even without a partner, tap "Try the demo first" on one iPhone to see how it feels to use it together
・In a budget with a pretend partner, recording an expense sends a thank-you and konpeito fall into the jar
・Demo entries are not saved and are never sent to your budget or to iCloud
■ Okagesama Plus
With Plus, you can also:
・Look back on every month, with a yearly look-back card
・Create any number of constellations, and see the ones you've completed in "Our night sky"
・Use 12 seasonal and anniversary stamps and 4 jar and konpeito themes
・Export CSV (on the iPhone of the person who has Plus)
・Plus works for every member of the budget. Family Sharing is also supported
・Sharing, recording, thank-yous, Otagaisama and Narasu all work without Plus
The app is in Japanese.
