Stuck for ideas? MIDI Motif Maker generates a finished melody in one tap — then lets you shape, play, and export it as MIDI. No AI, no cloud, no subscription.
Built for songwriters, producers, and music students, it turns a blank screen into a usable musical idea in seconds on iPhone, on iPad, and as an AUv3 MIDI plugin right inside your favourite music app.
GENERATE
• One-tap melody generation — a constraint solver plus a Markov engine
• Best-of randomization: auditions multiple candidates and keeps the most musical one
• Many built-in motifs to remix across classical, cinematic, jazz, acid-303, rock riffs, ostinatos, and pop themes
SHAPE & REMIX
• 15 scale modes (major, minor, Dorian, blues, pentatonic and more) with one-tap key transpose
• 9 song-form templates (sentence, period, ternary, rondo, bar form, theme & variations…) expanded into labelled sections
• 15 development techniques — inversion, retrograde, augmentation, sequence, fragmentation and more
• Slice & remix any idea with 6 intelligent strategies
LEARN
• Built-in music-theory references — chord charts, scale libraries, and interval guides
AUv3 PLUGIN — PLAY IT INSIDE YOUR DAW
• Run MIDI Motif Maker as an AUv3 MIDI plugin inside AUM, Loopy Pro, Drambo, Logic Pro for iPad, and other AUv3 hosts
SEND & EXPORT
• Export standard MIDI files (.mid) and share to Files, AirDrop, GarageBand, or any MIDI app
• Stream MIDI live over CoreMIDI to hardware synths and to other iOS music apps via a built-in virtual MIDI source
• Network MIDI and Bluetooth MIDI supported
• Keeps playing and sending while in the background
PRIVATE & OFFLINE — MADE BY YOU, NOT BY AI
• No generative AI and no machine-learning models — melodies come from music theory and classic algorithms running on your device
• Nothing is trained on other artists' music
• No internet, no cloud, no account — works fully offline
• No tracking, no data collection — your ideas never leave your iPhone
• One-time purchase. No subscription.
No two ideas the same.
