The tanpura that never needs tuning. Javari is a complete riyaz companion for Indian classical musicians — and a professional tuner and metronome for every musician.
Whether you sing Hindustani or Carnatic, play sitar, sarod, violin or harmonium, or just need a fast, accurate guitar tuner — Javari puts an accompanist, a tuner, a metronome and a practice diary in one calm, beautiful app.
YOUR SA, ALIVE — TANPURA & DRONE
• Rich, gapless tanpura in all 12 keys — it breathes like the real instrument, with no loop clicks
• Subtly detuned drone for a fuller, brighter sound, with a pace control from calm to bright
• Tunings to match your instrument or your guru's pitch
• Shruti-box drone for vocal riyaz and long-tone practice
• Sleep timer for late-night practice — the drone fades out, you drift off
A TUNER YOU CAN TRUST
• Instant response — the needle moves the moment you play, refreshed 20× per second
• Cent-precise: see exactly how many cents sharp or flat, and hold the reading after the note fades
• Guitar, bass, ukulele, violin, banjo and mandolin with string-by-string pegs — the detected string lights up, locks green with a chime when in tune, and every peg plays a reference tone
• Chromatic mode for any instrument; Voice mode tuned for singers holding a swar
• Adjustable concert pitch (A4 415–466 Hz) for baroque, orchestral or older recordings
A METRONOME BUILT FOR REAL PRACTICE
• Big tempo dial, tap tempo, 20–300 BPM with classical tempo names
• Time signatures from 1/4 to 12/8, with subdivisions (eighths, triplets, sixteenths)
• Tap any beat to accent or mute it — build the exact pulse your piece needs
• Three click sounds, rock-steady timing, and it keeps playing in the background
• Mixer: run tanpura and shruti together, balance every layer, strum a swar-mandal shimmer, and save complete setups as one-tap presets
PRACTICE LIKE YOUR GURU IS LISTENING
• Practice log: daily streaks, minutes per key, and weekly insights — watch your riyaz grow
• Recorder: capture yourself over the accompaniment with a live level meter, then play back, share, and keep your best takes
• Notes for lessons, bandish, lyrics and notation — attach photos of your guru's corrections
• Daily practice reminders that respect your schedule
• Lock-screen controls: play, pause, and see your key and tempo without unlocking your phone
YOUR MUSIC STAYS YOURS
No sign-up required. Your recordings, notes and practice history live on your device — not our servers.
Javari (jee-vaa-ree) is named for the jivari, the bridge that gives the tanpura its living buzz — the detail that turns a string into a drone. That is the standard we hold every sound in this app to.
Your Sa, alive.
