How hard was that pitch?
Everyone in the bleachers wants to know, and you are about to be the one who can tell them. Tap when the ball leaves the pitcher's hand. Tap again when it smacks the catcher's glove. The speed lights up on a scoreboard readout big enough to read from the row behind you.
Nothing to buy. No batteries. Nothing to aim. Just your phone and two taps.
HOW IT WORKS
Your two taps measure how long the ball is in the air. The app already knows how far it traveled, because you picked your league's pitching distance once in Settings, and it takes off the pitcher's stride, since the ball is released about a step in front of the rubber. Distance and time give you a speed, in MPH or KM/H.
It is the same stopwatch math coaches have been doing from the stands for decades, run by an app that never blinks and never loses count.
WHAT YOU GET
- A radar gun screen built for one hand, with a giant dot-matrix or LED readout
- Every league distance built in: 44, 46, 48, 50, 54 and 60.5 feet for baseball, 35, 40 and 43 feet for fastpitch softball, or set your own
- Pitch count, session average and top speed, updated on every pitch
- A pitch log of every reading, exportable as a CSV file for the coach
- A speed card you can share to the group chat the second a new top speed comes up
- A full scoreboard: guest and home runs, inning with top and bottom, balls, strikes and outs
- Auto count, so ball four and strike three clear the count and the third out flips the inning
- Your score is still there when you come back
- Keep-awake mode, so the screen stays on through a long inning
- Built for every current iPhone and iPad, with a two-column layout on iPad
SOFTBALL FAMILIES TOO
Fastpitch distances for 10U, 12U and 14U and up are built in, so a softball parent gets the same readings with no math and no conversion.
GETTING GOOD READINGS
Set your distance and the pitcher's stride once, then time a few pitches to find your rhythm. Every reading comes from your own two taps, so a single pitch can land a few MPH off. Watch the session average and the top speed, and time the same pitcher a few times in a row. That is where this app earns its keep.
WHO IT IS FOR
Parents who want to know what their kid is throwing this season compared to last. Coaches running a bullpen with a phone in one hand. Scorekeepers who want the count, the innings and the speed in one place. And anyone in the stands who just wants to win the argument about how hard that kid throws.
