How much of the world have you actually explored?
Hexplorer GPS turns your real-world adventures into a living map. As you move through the world, every street, trail, and neighbourhood you visit gets filled in — visualised as a glowing hexagonal grid overlaid on a satellite map. Watch your coverage grow over time and discover just how much (or how little) of your city you've actually seen.
The urban explorer's best friend: Ever wandered a new city and wondered if you missed a street? Hexplorer makes it obvious. The hex grid shows you exactly where you've been and where you haven't — so you can systematically work your way through every block of a neighbourhood, industrial zone, or city centre without missing a single corner. Perfect for urban explorers who want to know they've truly covered a place, not just passed through it.
Finally explore those forgotten places: You know that patch of woodland on the edge of town you've driven past a hundred times? Or that small forest tucked between fields that always looked interesting from the road? Hexplorer gives you the perfect reason — and the perfect tool — to go in and actually explore them. See your coverage fill in as you weave through the trees, and know for certain when you've covered every corner.
Coverage that means something: Hexplorer uses the H3 hexagonal grid system to divide the entire planet into precise, equal-area cells. As you explore, cells light up based on how thoroughly you've covered them — from a brief pass-through to a fully explored area.
Always tracking, even in the background: Keep Hexplorer running while you walk, cycle, drive, or hike. Background GPS tracking ensures no adventure goes unrecorded, so you can focus on exploring instead of managing the app.
Plant your flags: Mark places that matter to you — favourite spots, places to revisit, hidden gems — with custom map flags. Colour-code and prioritise them so your most important pins always stand out.
