"What can I make tonight with what I actually have?"
Chive builds your pantry automatically as you shop, then uses it to help you cook with what you have.
It works by combining your shopping list, pantry, and recipes into one system that keeps itself up to date.
A SHOPPING LIST THAT WORKS FOR YOU
Sorted by store aisle, with price tracking, predictive restocking suggestions based on your shopping routine, and shared live with your home for co-shopping in real time. When you cook a recipe or run low on a staple, it flows back onto your list with one tap. Add items on the go using our Siri integration. Prefer delivery? Send your list to the Instacart® app in a tap.
A PANTRY THAT BUILDS ITSELF
When you shop using Chive, everything you buy lands in the right spot in your pantry automatically, with best-before dates and nutrition. You can also add items to your pantry by taking a photo of groceries on your counter, scanning a barcode or a receipt, or even dictating a list.
SAVE RECIPES FROM ANYWHERE
Import recipes from Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, a link, a screenshot, or a photo of a cookbook page. Cook hands-free with an optional voice assistant that knows the recipe you're making and can offer cooking tips. Ask Chive to modify any recipe and save your version. Smart collections organize themselves based on your preferences as your cookbook grows.
ASK CHIVE ANYTHING
Chive knows your pantry, recipes, and the preferences you share, so it answers what a general chatbot can't. Ask "what can I cook tonight?" and get recipes you can start right now from trusted sources. Say "Add the ingredients for mushroom risotto to my list." It checks your kitchen, scales to your servings, and confirms before it acts.
SIRI, WIDGETS, AND ONE-TAP ADDS
Add to your grocery list with Siri, from a Shortcut, or from a widget on your Home Screen or Lock Screen. Quick Add sits in Control Center. Cook timers run as a Live Activity, so the countdown stays on your Lock Screen instead of buried in an app. Receipts are read on your device. Share a recipe from any app straight into Chive, and keep your list in sync with Apple Reminders.
NEVER WASTE FOOD
Chive knows food, not just barcodes. Fresh cilantro keeps about 3 days in the fridge; dried coriander keeps 3 years in the spice rack. Every item gets a best-before date for the form it is actually in, and where it actually lives, then a reminder before it turns, so it gets eaten instead of tossed.
SHARE YOUR WHOLE KITCHEN
Invite your partner, roommate, or family with a link. One pantry, one list, one recipe collection. Everyone in sync.
MORE THAN ONE HOME
Have a cottage, office fridge, or second place? Chive can track more than one home, each with its own pantry and grocery list, all under one account.
SWITCHING FROM ANOTHER APP?
Bring your kitchen with you. Import your pantry and recipes from Paprika, Kitchen Pal, Samsung Food, Recime, or any CSV or spreadsheet.
