Selling something second-hand is easy until you have to write the advert.
ByeThings does that part. Photograph the thing you are done with and it
works out what it is — the make, the model, the material, the condition —
puts a realistic price on it, and writes the listing for you. Then it puts
it in front of buyers near you.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Photograph it. Get close and fill the frame. Several things in one shot
is fine — they are separated out.
2. It is read, priced and written up. You get a title, a description and a
price band, with the reasoning behind the number.
3. Change anything you like, then publish. Listing is free and unlimited.
WHAT YOU PAY FOR
Scanning, and nothing else. Publishing listings, messaging buyers and your
own public seller page are free on every account.
A new account gets three free scans. After that you buy a pack of scans as
a one-off payment — they do not expire and there is nothing to cancel. If
you sell every week there is an optional monthly subscription, but most
people will not need it.

ByeThings Pro — £14.99 per month, for 150 item scans each month.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The
subscription renews automatically at £14.99 per month unless auto-renew is
turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your
account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the
current period. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew
in your Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free
trial period is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.

BUYING, TOO
The marketplace works both ways. Search for what you want, see how far away
it is, and message the seller in the app. Distances are worked out from the
first half of a postcode, so you can tell whether something is a reasonable
drive without anybody publishing their address.
WHAT WE DO NOT DO
We do not take a cut of your sale. We do not handle the money — you arrange
that with the buyer directly, in cash on collection, by bank transfer or by
PayPal. We do not run advertising, and we do not use any analytics or
advertising trackers at all.
A NOTE ON PRICES
Every price is an estimate from a photograph and your notes, not a
valuation. It is not checked against any other marketplace. It is a place
to start, and you can change it before anything goes live and at any time
afterwards.
