Backyard ultra, done right on your wrist.
Every yard starts on the hour. Backyard Ultra times the yard, counts you down through the break and tells you exactly when to be back in the corral, so the only thing you have to think about is running.
DURING THE YARD
• Elapsed time, distance, average pace, average speed and live heart rate
• Projected rest: how much recovery your current pace is earning you
• A red cutoff warning the moment you are at risk of timing out
THE BREAK
• A countdown to the next start, always tied to the official grid
• Haptic alerts at five minutes, two minutes, one minute, ten seconds and at the start
• Your previous yard's numbers, so you can adjust before the next one
AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL
Leave Auto Loop on and the yard is banked the moment your watch measures the configured distance, with nothing to tap at the line. Prefer to confirm yourself? Turn it off and bank each yard by hand.
BUILT FOR THE FORMAT
The clock never moves. Every start and cutoff is derived from the moment you began, so a break, a pause, a reboot or a recovered race can never shift the grid or give time back.
The default setup is race-ready: 6.706 km / 4.167 mi every 60 minutes. Change the yard distance, the window, the units and a maximum number of yards whenever you want.
It counts confirmed yards, total time and total distance, and saves an outdoor run to Apple Health, with your route if you allow it.
NO STRINGS
No account. No subscription. No ads. No tracking. One purchase, and it works offline on the watch.
Requires Apple Watch Series 6 or later, Apple Watch SE 2 or later, or any Apple Watch Ultra model, with watchOS 11 or later.
Backyard Ultra is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any backyard ultra race, race series or organiser.
